Full-time Instructional Assistant- Computer Network program, M-F, 7.5 hours/day, 183 days per year starting August 23, 2026. This position includes benefits and single coverage for health, vision, and dental insurance.
Compensation: $13.50 per hour
Job Description This hands-on support role is ideal for someone comfortable with technology, enjoys working with students, and is willing to learn in a classroom and lab environment. The Instructional Assistant will work under the direction of the lead instructor to support student learning, assist with hands-on activities, help maintain an organized lab environment, and promote safe and productive classroom procedures.
A strong candidate should be dependable, organized, patient, and able to communicate effectively with high school students. Basic technology skills are preferred, including familiarity with computer hardware, Windows or Linux systems, basic networking concepts, and general troubleshooting. Experience with help desk support, computer repair, networking, or related technical training is helpful, but not required. Foundational certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco, or similar credentials are preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities may include assisting students during classroom assignments and labs, helping students follow written directions and safety procedures, organizing tools and equipment, supporting basic troubleshooting activities, helping prepare lab materials, monitoring student progress, and working collaboratively with the instructor to create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
Qualification/Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Experience of at least 2 years working with youth, in a school setting preferred, but not required. Individual must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with Microsoft computer applications is essential.
Required Clearances: Must have or be able to obtain Act 34 (State Police Background), 151 (Child Abuse), 114 (FBI Fingerprinting), and Act 168 clearance

Minimum of four years of verified work experience in all aspects of residential home construction, electric, plumbing, masonry, building code and safety OR PA Tech Ed/Industrial Arts Certification. Experience working with youth in a school setting preferred but not required. Individual must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with Microsoft computer applications is essential.
